About

As a child, I fell in love with the stunning visual display seen on stage and screen. I spent all my spare time making weird creations simply for the love of it and never thought about how my skills could fit into something I admired so dearly.

Naturally my favorite subject was Art where I have explored a range of mediums throughout my education and degree in Theatre Design. I learnt the techniques and skills needed for set design and model making, costume design, scenic art, technical drawing and more. However my placements and work experiences are what truly motivated me to be involved in the art department as I had a creative, hands on approach in all.

My professional career started in theatre, initially dressing actors on a range of productions; favourites include Disney's The Lion King & The Wicked UK Tour. Despite having a love for costumes, it was the props and puppets that fascinated me the most. This sent me down the route of practical set dressing and gaining work on film and tv productions as well as commercials.

I have experimented with an array of different materials, discovering the practicalities of each and new ways of being creative. From garden wire and willow to foam and plastazote; I love to make 3D forms as well as sourcing, distressing and using scenic painting skills to fit the design aesthetic. Working in the art department has been a chance for me to put my eager passion to good use!

I love working on a project from concept, through storyboarding, model making and implementation. In recent years I have enjoyed working on larger scale productions as a prop buyer within the set decoration team in art departments. I have to rely on good research skills and communication to acquire period specific props for each set. It is very rewarding to see your work come together on screen, in a creative, collaborative team effort. I enjoy creating a story telling narrative of the characters through the set and connecting the visual elements for the viewer to be absorbed into the story.

I have a big imagination, a good visual memory and am a hard working, self-motivated individual who puts 100% into my work.
