The Selfish Crocodile

Assistant Props Maker

The Selfish Crocodile, a story by Faustin Charles, was staged by Blunderbus Theatre Company in a bright, playful performance. Following designer Lisa Kelly's innovative vision for the set, me and a team of makers created a set that resembled a children's play area as well as the river bank setting. This encouraged the children to be part of the performance and sit amongst the actors. I followed briefs to create and render animal puppets and props as well as texturing and painting set pieces. For example one of the green hedges needed to have a head flap for an actor to surprise the children- this needed to be discrete and covered by leaves at the same time as functional in order to open properly.
